Various Summer Recreational Games for the Outdoors
Summer is typically the hottest season of the year. As such, during this period, many people spend most of their time outdoors. Besides traditional activities like swimming, biking, and running, there are many more options that you can enjoy. You can make the most out of your summer and bond with family members and friends by engaging in these out-of-the-ordinary games:
Squish the Balloon
Fill balloons with shaving cream. Allocate one balloon per player and make sure that you have extras in case any pop during the preparation process. Next, lay out a tarp on a grassy area and fill two buckets with the balloons. Place the containers on opposite sides of the canvas.
Form two teams and make them line up at a distance of about 10 feet away from the tarp. Choose two individuals to stand next to each pail; they will be the ones to place a balloon on the canvas when a player runs up.
On the starting signal, one member from each team runs up to their buckets and sits on the balloon until it pops, after which the player should run back and tag the next person in line. This continues until a team finishes first in popping all their balloons.
Sand Passing
To play this game, you will need a bag of soft sand, two small buckets, and two plastic cups of the same size. Divide the players into two groups and have them form a line, shoulder to shoulder. Place one bucket full of sand next to the person at the beginning of the line, and place an empty cup next to the individual at the end of the line. When the signal is given, the person next to the bucket grabs a handful of sand and passes it on to the person next to him, who then passes it on to the others. This continues until the time up. The team with the biggest amount of sand in their cups wins the game.
When the days get too hot, however, you can always refresh by going on a holiday to the charming town of Tenby, Pembrokeshire. You and your family are always welcome to stay at the Strathmore Hotel
